Global Garden Partners with AB Lighting to Distribute Full Line of Grow Lights for Cannabis Cultivation

LOS ANGELES — Global Garden announces its partnership with AB Lighting as a distributor of their LED grow lights. Although the AB Lighting brand is new, the team is not. Their offerings include: AB520 – is a veg light that has a higher percentage of blue light to keep the plants compact and encourage branching. It was specifically des...

Brands of the Rich and Famous

Image
While cannabis may still have some distance to go before it’s truly normalized, the plant and related products are no longer exactly taboo. This shift is apparent in increasingly blatant pop-culture references, expanding legalization efforts, and the new, unabashed ways products are marketed to the masses—most notably by celebrities. A race to dominate the market in the same way Nike owns athletic shoes and Coca-Cola eclipses all other soft drinks has contributed to product saturation and fierce competition in the cannabis space. Much as Nike and Coke did decades ago, cannabis brands increasingly seek celebrity involvement to bolster their image and create emotional links with consumers. No matter the industry or product, a celebrity’s endorsement—or better yet, ownership stake—can precipitate earned media and consumer interest in the short term. Played right, the hype can become brand awareness that sticks around for the long haul. Cannabis is becoming a lifestyle product that ties...

Beyond Brownies: the Diversification and Popularity of Edibles

Image
It may be clichéd to say time flies when you’re having fun, but it is an apt statement when you’re working in an industry like cannabis. With each passing day, the industry grows broader and more robust around the world, but particularly in the United States and Canada. Last fall, the District of Columbia eliminated barriers that prevented many citizens from accessing medical marijuana cards. More recently, residents in Maryland and Missouri voted to legalize recreational use. Amid these exciting changes, one thing has remained consistent: the growing popularity of edibles. Decades ago, the average patient or recreational consumer likely thought of edibles as brownies. Today, the medicinal and recreational benefits of cannabis can be enjoyed in a variety of form factors, including mints, sweeteners, gum, and a broad spectrum of other products. Since we haven’t examined the category in depth for more than a year, now might be a good time to take another look. If there’s one word to de...
