Veriheal Welcomes Submissions for Third Annual Innovation in Cannabis Scholarship
$25,000 in Total Awards Available for Eligible Students Nationwide
DENVER — Leading medical cannabis card facilitator Veriheal today opened submissions for its third annual Innovation in Cannabis Scholarship Fund, which will award $5,000 each to five students to apply to college tuition and fees. Veriheal increased its award funding this year from $20,000 to $25,000.
“We’re excited to reaffirm our commitment to the community and help shape future cannabis industry leaders,” said Anthony Dutcher, CMO of Veriheal.
The scholarship is open to current college students, recent high school graduates and high school seniors who are starting college classes early. Submissions will be accepted until July 30, 2022, with winners notified by September. Students are asked to submit a 1,000-word essay about how they would improve the cannabis industry. Participants are encouraged to be creative in crafting novel solutions to remedy the concerns facing the cannabis industry, from business, to technology, to product development.
“As both medical and adult-use cannabis access increases across America, we’ll have some issues to work out,” said Dutcher. “The Innovation in Cannabis Scholarship not only sets up students for success, but it also lays the groundwork for a new generation of cannabis entrepreneurs and visionaries.”
This year’s scholarship allotment marks a departure from previous years, with larger monetary awards given to individual students. As part of Veriheal’s ongoing philanthropic efforts, the Innovation in Cannabis Scholarship has increased its award funding by 66% since its inception. In addition to its own community engagement efforts, Veriheal also gives back to cannabis advocacy organizations such as The Last Prisoner Project.
