Brands of the Rich and Famous

While cannabis may still have some distance to go before it’s truly normalized, the plant and related products are no longer exactly taboo. This shift is apparent in increasingly blatant pop-culture references, expanding legalization efforts, and the new, unabashed ways products are marketed to the masses—most notably by celebrities. A race to dominate the market in the same way Nike owns athletic shoes and Coca-Cola eclipses all other soft drinks has contributed to product saturation and fierce competition in the cannabis space. Much as Nike and Coke did decades ago, cannabis brands increasingly seek celebrity involvement to bolster their image and create emotional links with consumers. 6 Practical Ways Companies Are Redefining Efficiency

Over a fifteen-year period, Carnegie reduced the cost of steel from $100 to $18 per ton and built the lions’s share of what would become the world’s first billion-dollar company: U.S. Steel. The introduction of the Bessemer process to the United States ushered i...

The time, energy, and money spent to acquire customers come at a premium cost. So why let them slip through your fingers? While producing a stellar product or service is an important part of the customer-retention recipe, successful strategies must be much broader. “Consumer retention is universal,” according to Flowhub Chief Executive Officer Kyle Sherman. “It’s about creating a positive experience and an incentive to come back — from atmosphere to having the right technology in place to training staff on standard operating procedures and every product detail. Look at the Apple store, Ritz Carlton, and your favorite local dispensary. These companies provide standout experiences but operate in completely different industries. Each company makes its customers feel like royalty.” Sherman has watched brands and retailers acquire, lose, reacquire, retain, and otherwise dance with consumers since early in the second decade of the twenty-first century. While working for industry powerhous...
